Prisons and Parliament- Monsoon Session 2020
The last parliament session - 'Monsoon Session' went on from 14th September 2020 till it was adjourned on 23rd September 2020. During the session, the Members of Parliament (MPs) posed questions to various ministries to seek information on the working of the government and therefore bring more accountability. This session saw a total of 17 questions being answered on the condition of prisons, arrests and detentions, status of the legal aid delivery system and the condition of the criminal justice system in the wake of the COVID19 pandemic. The attached note provides a link to all these questions and answers as well as provides a brief summary of the information received through these questions in this parliament session.
