Gender Dimension of ATI


UNESCO supported this pilot project which aimed at identifying the challenges that confront women in their attempt to access information from public institutions and to encourage women groups to be involved in the campaign for the passage of the RTI Bill into law.

 

Access to information monitoring exercise - CHRI as the secretariat for the Coalition trained requesters from five categories of the population namely Gender Activists, Students, Non Literate, Journalist and Persons with Disability to embark on access to information monitoring exercise in selected public institutions in Accra. At the end of the exercise, a stakeholder validation meeting was held to discuss and disseminate the findings of the project.
