Concluded: Workshop on RTI for civil society representatives in Bangladesh


Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative (CHRI), New Delhi in partnership with The Hunger Project (THP), Bangladesh organised a day long workshop on RTI with civil society representatives from Bangladesh. The workshop held on 01st September 2018 in Dhaka and was attended by around 30 participants. Dr.   Mohammad Abdul Hakim, Director, Bangladesh Information spoke during the event and Mr. Biplab Karmakar, RTI activist from Comilla, Bangladesh lead one of the sessions in the event. Ms. Shikha Chhibbar and Mr. John Mascrinaus from the ATI team, CHRI presented on their own experiences of filing RTIs in India and explained its systemic impact. The participants drafted RTI applications during the event after identifying themes as a part of the group activity designed for the workshop which were later discussed for inputs from experts from THP and CHRI. The participants promised to file RTIs after the workshop for various public interest matters. CHRI’s Access to Information team and the resource persons from India participated in and facilitated the event via Skype.
