In order to facilitate the prisoners of the Jaipur central jail the Rajasthan state legal services authority and jail administration in association with commonwealth human rights initiative, an NGO started E-history facility on Sunday. The facility will enable the inmates to to know how much imprisonment is left to be served by them, when is the next day of court's presence, card of the visitors and would avail other facilities.

The Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative (CHRI) views with deep concern Manipur Police Head Constable T. Herojit Singh's admission that he shot and killed Sanjit Meitei, an unarmed suspected member of an anti-State group, on the alleged instructions of a senior police officer.

The Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative, CHRI has viewed with deep concern the admission made by Manipur Police head constable Thounaojam Herojit Singh on January 25 to the media on the alleged fake encounter which took place in July 2009.

The Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative (CHRI) has termed the 2009 fake encounter of Sanjit Meitei, a suspected member of the PLA, in Imphal as an “obstruction of justice” and called for investigation of the “senior police officers and any higher authority, bureaucrat or politician, who allegedly gave orders for this killing.”
