CHRI commends National Human Rights Commission’s move towards greater accessibility


The Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative (CHRI) welcomes the decision by the Chairperson, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) of India, to open up the process of meeting with civil society members and human rights defenders. We appreciate the Commission’s efforts to become more accessible and hope that this will be sustained and result in better coordination with human rights groups on the ground, impacting the rights situation in India.
