RTI learning programme for media and civil society representatives from South Asia

Nov 25, 2019

Delhi, India

CHRI is hosting a week-long RTI Learning Programme (RTI-LP) for civil society and media representatives from South Asia from 25th November, 2019. Delegates from Bangladesh, Nepal, the Maldives and Sri Lanka will deliberate on the manner of use and implementation of RTI laws in their respective countries. They will also interact with RTI practitioners in civil society and the mass media to understand how RTI has been used in India on matters of public interest, particularly for securing the rightful entitlements of people belonging to the marginalised and vulnerable segments of society. Delegates are likely to visit the Central Information Commission to observe the proceedings and interact with Information Commissioners. They will also take part in RTI applications and appeals drafting exercises to hone their skills.
