Interactions, exercising, exchange of ideas: CHRI RTI-learning programme concludes on a high note


The RTI-Learning Programme organised by CHRI for South Asian delegates from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, the Maldives and Nepal, concluded on November 29, 2019, The delegates spent five days engaging with each other, discussing the experience of using RTI in their countries; attending sessions from subject experts about using RTI for government expenditure, holding government accountable for non-delivery of services and issues of public interest, for raising vital questions which should be demanded from the state; and taking part in RTI application and appeal drafting exercises. The delegates interacted with Anjali Bhardwaj (RTI activist), Hemanti Atri (former State Information Commissioner), Prof. M. Sridhar Acharyulu (former Central Information Commissioner), among others. 
The programme ended on a high note with all participants agreeing to interact with each other on a regular basis to exchange examples of good practice and stories of success and challenges in the use of RTI laws in their respective countries
