Legislations

While all care has been taken to put up correct reproductions of the relevant prison laws in India, CHRI would like to make it clear that these should be used only for the purpose of reference and not for being quoted as having the final authority. Interested readers should consult the bare acts brought out by the Government of India for the latest versions of these legislations.

These are -
1. Prisons Act, 1894
2. Prisoners Act, 1900
3. Transfer of Prisoners Act, 1950 and
4. Prisoners [Attendance in Courts] Act, 1955
