In
promoting positive change to the human rights situation in Commonwealth
countries, CHRI targets the association of which they are members
(the Commonwealth, United Nations and regional bodies). In addition,
though, it is crucial that we engage directly with those governments
and other in-country stakeholders. Please visit the programme
pages of the website for details of this engagement related to
CHRI's focus areas of Access
to Information and Access
to Justice. Visit the country
profiles page for profiles of all 53 Commonwealth members,
as well as details of CHRI's broader human rights advocacy in
each country.
In
order to support civil society in member countries, CHRI also
coordinates the Commonwealth Human Rights Network. On invitation
from civil society in a member country, CHRI may also send a fact
finding mission to monitor specific human rights situation and
suggest solutions. To date, there have been four such missions.
